The Austin Tovey Pro promises to be a board for Tow, Kite, Wake, but also for dock starting and pump foiling. I was super keen to try the board for this. Up to now we have always been using the WKT 109 for dock starting, but that board now is considered on the longer side for this exciting foiling discipline. So how would the new board be?
You immediately notice the different shape. The Austin Tovey board has more volume in a shorter package. That means the boards is quite a lot thinker. With a length of 101 cm, its 8 cm shorter compared to the WKT. The board also feels lighter compared to the WKT.

On the dock the board felt super nice. As the board is thicker, its nicer to grip. The deck is also much flatter compared to the WKT. All in all its really nice to handle on the dock while starting.

The board starts easily, but that of course more due to the foil we were using. We typically dock start from standstill using a APF1675 or APF1350. When riding the board feels super still and responsive. You do notice that the board is a little shorter. The lenght of the WKT has never been an issue, but a bit shorter does feel good. I very much like that the deck is flatter. Yes, it took a bit of time to find the right position on the board, but when standing and pumping it just felt nicer.

Happy pumpfoiling in the meantime!
